The firm you built on relationships needs a system to grow.
Instinct and relationships got you here.
Scaling takes structure.
If any of this sounds familiar:
The calendar isn't filling, and when it does, half of it is the wrong fit.
Marketing has landed on someone whose real job is something else.
Your people are meeting the right prospects in the field. What happens after that depends on who remembers to follow up.
The founder used to drive the marketing engine. Since they stepped back, it's stalled.
You're spending on ads but you can't tell what's actually working.
If two or three of these are true, you're not looking for another tactic. You're looking for a marketing leader.
How It Works
-
A fixed-scope engagement to build the foundation your marketing has been missing.
The work moves through four stages: Discover, Assess, Map, Activate.
Discover is a full look under the hood. Your tech stack, current activity, past initiatives, team structure, how leads move from marketing to sales, how the client journey actually runs.
Assess is what I report back. What's working, what's leaking, where the biggest opportunities are.
Map is the strategy itself. Priorities, a 90-day roadmap, and the messaging and positioning groundwork to execute against.
Activate breaks into three pillars: technology, positioning, and visibility. The strategy phase folds in an initial 30-day quick-wins sprint, so momentum starts before the full plan is even complete.
Roughly 60 days start to finish. By day 60 you have a working diagnosis, quick wins already in motion, and a plan the team can execute against.

The strategy tells us what your firm needs. The depth of support matches the depth of the work.
Some firms need a full fractional CMO. That looks like roughly ten hours a week: leadership team meetings, weekly marketing sync with your internal team, direct hand on campaigns and vendors, ownership of the numbers. Three-month minimum.
Some firms need something lighter. That looks like a monthly working session on strategy, quarterly re-planning, and on-call judgment on the calls that come up in between. Three-month minimum here too.
Whichever shape the engagement takes, I look at the whole system. Marketing, sales, and operations all touch the client experience, and all three need to pull in the same direction. That's the through-line.

A boutique investment bank and valuation firm built on relationships and referrals, where marketing was reactive and dependent on individual relationship managers. In the first six months of our engagement, we built the firm's first systematic pipeline beyond referrals: 209 qualified inbound prospects, each vetted against the existing CRM and screened to exclude competitors and poor-fit contacts.
A founder-dependent financial services firm where growth was capped by the founder's personal network and time. Shifted from reactive brand-building to a proactive client acquisition engine, replacing scattered tactics with a cohesive pipeline strategy and a consistent marketing rhythm the firm could run without the founder in every seat.
A fractional CFO firm with an innovative service but no way to explain it in language the market understood. Refined the messaging, built the content and sales assets around it, and stood up sustainable relationship-marketing and partnership systems. Went from launch to mid-six figures in year one.

Absolutely. As an experienced fractional CMO, I'm able to drive outstanding marketing results in just 10 focused hours per week. By utilizing proven frameworks like Functional Marketing and taking a hands-on implementation role in addition to high-level strategy. World-class marketing doesn't require a full-time hire - it requires the right leadership.

Agencies can be a good solution for execution, but often lack the unified strategic vision and accountability that comes with having a dedicated marketing leader. As your fractional CMO, I provide that Chief-level perspective to craft a cohesive marketing strategy tailored to your specific goals. I then own execution by managing your agency partners, in-house team, systems and processes.

The fractional model actually mitigates risk compared to a full-time hire. You get ALL of my decades-plus years of experience for a fraction of the cost. There's no compromise on expertise or ability to execute. And if it's not an ideal fit, we can simply part ways after the minimum engagement period - no messy termination required.
-
In my fractional CMO role, I go through an intensive onboarding process to fully immerse myself in your company's history, processes, industry landscape and growth goals. My outside perspective is then an asset - allowing me to bring best practices while still crafting a custom marketing strategy. I'll know your business as well as any insider.
